Exhibition "Visages" 2011

I have been working on this photo project for several years, I started in 2009.
For the most part, I have met them on the street. Meeting with the other is at the center of my approach. I met their eyes and I liked them. I went to them and we had a chat first, before meeting again to take pictures. So we saw each other several times. A bond was created, I kept in touch with some of them.

They are people living in Ile-de-France, they make our neighborhoods, they work there, they walk in the streets and talk with others, sometimes even live in the street. I even pushed the meetings during my travels.

I am interested in people, I like to meet people. Getting into the privacy of a person for a few minutes and hearing their story are exciting times.

We pass a lot of people every day and sometimes we want to stop and ask people questions, it's a mixture of curiosity and sharing. For the people I took in photos, there was a feeling. Everyone agreed to discuss and extend with the photos.

Spending a moment with people you don't know creates a strong moment because the person opens up about their intimacy. She does this too because she must feel that I am listening and there to share. The elderly are the most touching because one can feel the lived in the stories and the experience of life.

These meetings are illustrated by portraits and videos, using several formats: polaroid, slide, digital and film.

The video of the subject is available here:
